White Winter (Red Snow)

A poem which is strongly inspired by the film Tuntematon sotilas (The Unknown Soldier) and the Winter War between the Soviet Union and Finland.

White Winter
(Red Snow)

Dirts come white,
Unclear my sights.
the wind blows
when shell explodes.
It is my time
when winter comes.

Blood runs dry.
Grey is my face.
To where I belong.
I’ve waited so long.

My name just becomes
a long-lost fable.
Under a hallway,
beg my departure.

Leaves leavin’ trees
like me, leaving home.
