Even if we’re not together
and our stories are over,
you still mean
a lot to me.
We are free now, physically.
But my mind’s up on the ceiling,
paralyzed,
in denial.

You’re gone, but not forgotten.
I’m alone, but your shadow lingers still.
This emptiness
fills up sadness.
It’s the loneliest summer night,
on the crowdest* corner.
Longest ever.
Longing forever.

Quiet apartment awaits my return
whilst I’m waiting for the fern
to grow back
on this sack of stones
